A new exhibition for Eastern Europe
Europe’s ‘near East’ presents some interesting opportunities. The attraction of a near market, low-cost economies – some new members of the EU, others working hard to achieve acceptance - which are also rapidly developing as market places in their own right, are proving highly attractive to manufacturing and assembly.
Hungary is at the centre of this development, with Slovakia, then Czech Republic and Poland to the North; Ukraine to the west; Romania, with Bulgaria beyond, to the South West; Croatia and Serbia to the South; and Slovenia and Austria to the West. In population terms central and Eastern Europe represents a market of over 150 million people, equivalent to Russia, or greater than the markets of Germany and France combined.
