According to Customers’ statistics, the export value of hardware reaches 4.723 billion USD in the first quarter of 2008, with 2.9% year-on-year increase; 1.592 billion USD in March, up 31.1%.
The major export products in quality and value: the export volume of bibcock, faucets and allied equipment is 148 million pieces, declined by 8.3%, accounting for 535 million USD, with 9.5% year-on-year increase; the export volume of gas cooker for domestic use reaches 281 million USD, representing a 5.4% year-on-year increase..
As to the import status, china imports 471 million USD of hardware products n the first quarter of 2008, up 19.8% year-on-year; the value in March reaches 183 million USD, a year-on-year increase of 17.2%.
The major import products in quality and value: import value of lock components is 380.904 million USD, a year-on-year decline of 8.5%; the import value of non-insulated steel wire, rope and cable is 492.162 million USD, up 16.4% year-on year.
