China First Steel Product Gets ROHS Certificate

According to WISCO (Wuhan Iron and Steel Group/ Corporation), the non-oriented silicon steel of WISCO has been certificated ROHS by SGS. This is the first time for China steel industry to get RoHS certificate, which means that the environmental obstacles of Chinese electrical and electronic products imported to EU , which use WISCO non-oriented silicon steel, do not exist any longer.

 

RoHS is short for /the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment/， which has been put into practice since July,1st, 2006 by European Commission. The RoHS compliance :Member States shall ensure that, from 1 July 2006, new electrical and electronic equipment put on the EU market does not contain any of the six banned substances: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, poly-brominated biphenyls (PBB) or polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

 

 

As China's first generation of cold-rolled silicon steel manufacturers, WISCO’s cold-rolled silicon steel production capacity has reached 1.2 million tons, while non-oriented silicon steel products has been widely used in transformers, generators, electrical and household appliances, and other fields.
