EU Might Defer Decision on Antidumping Tariffs on Iron & Steel Fastener Originating in China

Author: ChinaFastener.com Views: Date: 2008-10-6 Source: www.ChinaFastener.com

The preliminary tariff on iron and steel fastener originating in China will expired on August 9th, 2008. At the moment a lot enterprises are concerned with the outcome of the final decision. According to the latest news we hear, the final decision might be delayed to February next year.

Phil Matten’s letter can prove it. But we have not received confirmation from Chinese Commercial Ministry.

The letter is authorized by Di Minjie, Secretariat of China General Machine Components Industry Association (CMCA), to publicize on chinafastener.com.

Good day Di Minjie

I hope I find you well.

As you are probably aware there is quite a lot of speculation right now that the European Commission may delay its decision on antidumping tariffs beyond the deadline for preliminary tariffs of August 9 and continue investigating before making a final decision by February next year.

I wondered whether, through your official contacts, the Chinese Commercial Ministry has received any information on this matter. Also I understand the European Commission may have invited Chinese fastener producers to Brussels for further investigative discussions. Again, I wondered whether your Association was involved in or aware of this invitation.

Best regards
