Wenzhou Fastener Enterprises Drop by 1000 within 3 years

According to a recent survey carried by Wenzhou Fastener Association, the number of fastener manufacturers has dropped from more than 3,000 to 2,000 in three years.
It is learnt that three years ago, the Association carried out a survey before its establishment. At that time, there were more than 3,000 enterprises with an annual output of over 10 billion Yuan. Recently, however, the survey finds that there are only 2,000 enterprises left, but the gross output value rises slightly.
In 2006, due to the rise of raw materials prices, nearly 1,000 small workshops have to close down. But most of the "disappeared" workshops have been integrated into the larger enterprises. Mr. Jiang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Association, says that although the number of enterprises cut off sharply, the efficiency and image of fastener industry are much better than before, because the fake and fraud products are fewer, and the dumping of low-priced products also declined, more importantly, it greatly reduces environmental pollution.
