Chinese fastener industry need close cooperation with iron and steel industry

Fastener is common basic part of large quality and widely use. It is closely connected with iron and steel industry at all levels. Mr. Feng Jinyao, chairman of China fastener association, analyzes the development trend of Chinese fastener industry and demand for iron and steel in fastener industry at "2008 china steel industry report cum Annual network party of Mysteel.com"

 

Mr. Feng Jinyao expresses that the materials of fastener can be steel, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, titanium, or other engineering materials, which can be under hot processing or cutting processing. However, more than 90% fastener products are under cold forming process. Fastener products after cold forming process will be of high precision, high quality and high manufacturing efficiency. Chinese fastener industry has maintained five-year consecutive double-digit growth.

 

Though reaching the requested standard of qualified wire, cold heading steel fasteners still need to be closely connected with steel enterprises and down –stream enterprises, China is a great fastener country, with expected annual output of 5 million ton, annual steel consumption of 6 million tons. However, Chinese cold heading steel using in fastener industry is under slow development. Steel using in fastener is of few varieties, which can not the meet domestic demand and exportation.

 

 

 In recent years, China national economy maintains a growth rate of 8%, which brings development opportunities for fastener industry. Mr. Feng Jinyao believes that China fastener industry will develop continuously in competitive market with great potential. The technical level of fastener manufacturing can not be improved without fastener material elevation, while the research of new cold heading material should be dependent on fastener enterprises. The development of fastener industry can not exist without iron and steel industry's support. Only with close cooperation relationship can fastener industry and iron and steel industry be under better development.
