In last March the Brazilian Subsidiary Honda announced a recall on models CB500 F and CB500R.
According to the company, 1,491 units are part of the call. The service started since March 31. The Honda informed the owners to go to one of the authorized dealers of the brand for free replacement of the fixing screws of the axes of balance, located on the outside of the engine.
In mid-March, the company has called for the same problem in the United States, where 6,954 units are involved. The company advised that there was no registration possible defect in the country and that the campaign is of a preventive nature.
According to the company, in some units the loss of tightening bolt may occur, causing leakage of engine oil and, if occurs the total loosing, happen the rocker shaft displacement, causing sudden and irreversible shutdown of the engine, leaving unusable.
In certain circumstances, the symptom may cause an accident with the possibility of physical injury and damage to the occupants and / or third parties.
