The US International Trade Commission has determined that revoking the existing antidumping duty orders on helical spring lock washers from China and Taiwan would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time.

As a result of the Commission's affirmative determinations, the existing orders on imports of these products from China and Taiwan will remain in place.

With respect to China, all six Commissioners voted in the affirmative. With respect to Taiwan, Vice Chairman Mr Irving A Williamson and Commissioners Charlotte R Lane, Ms Shara L Aranoff and Mr Dean A Pinkert voted in the affirmative and Chairman Mr Deanna Tanner Okun and Commissioner Mr Daniel R Pearson voted in the negative.

The action comes under the five year (sunset) review process required by the Uruguay Round Agreements Act.

The five year (sunset) review concerning Helical Spring Lock Washers from China and Taiwan was instituted on June 1st 2011.

On September 6th 2011, the Commission voted to conduct expedited reviews. All six Commissioners concluded that the domestic group response for these reviews was adequate and the respondent group responses were inadequate and voted for expedited reviews.
