On March 26, 2012, Taiwan regional authority of finance decided to conduct anti-dumping (AD) investigations into carbon-steel medium plates from South Korea and India, ordinary cold-rolled steels from China mainland and South Korea, and non-oriented silicon steels from Japan.

The authority estimates that it could make out a preliminary identification on the dumping existence soonest in late July to early August this year, and decide whether to levy a 5-year anti-dumping duties by the end of January 2014 with the duty rates around 17.12%-38.35% of the quoted import prices.

According to China mainland statistics, in 2011, the mainland exported to Taiwan 42,600 tons of ordinary cold steel coils with a value of USD 31.16 million and 100 tons of ordinary cold-rolled sheets with a value of USD 110,000.
