USITC drops anti-dumping duties on grain-oriented steel

It is reported that US International Trade Commission will not impose import duties on grain-oriented steel from China, the Czech Republic, South Korea and Russia.

In September, the Department of Commerce (DOC) has confirmed the duties for electrical steel, and China is the mostly-affected exporter for the items.

China’s exporters including Baoshan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd were confirmed in unfair government subsidies and sold grain-oriented electrical steel with too cheap prices, and finally were set a 127.69% anti-subsidy duty as well as a 159.21% anti-dumping duty.

The grain-oriented imports from Russia and South Korea are also set anti-dumping duties as 3.68% and 68.98% respectively, but no anti-subsidy duty to be imposed.

The ITC vote on this Thursday ended the case because the domestic steel industry is neither materially injured nor threatened with material injury.
