In 2015, the global economy will continue its moderate recovery tendency with much more instabilities and uncertainties in this far more harsh international competition. The opening of China’s economy was smooth and steady, but confronting the pressure of downstream.

Internationally, the global economy remained the tendency of low-speed growth with increasing risk factors and complex environment. Still, the global economy is in the phase of deep change with limited growth motivity and distinct national differences. Risks are added to the recovery of global economy due to increasing interest rates in USA, declining price of bulk commodity in international market, and the intensified geopolitical volatility. It is estimated by IMF that the global economy in 2015 will increase by 3.5%, 0.1 percentage point increased in the aspect of growth rate over the corresponding period in 2014.

Domestically, China’s economy remained its growth tendency under the circumstance of facing the downturning pressure. In Q1, the GDP of China increased by 7%, which reached the estimated value. Considering the overall environment globally and domestically, China’s foreign trade, especially the export, are blessed with the basic conditions of growth. However, the severity and complexity of the current environment haven’t been changed. Following are the aspects bringing the pressures.

1.      The external demand stands on shaky ground. Direct consequence came after the low-speed growth is weak investment demand and low consumption on commodities concerned. For the sake of reducing the impact on one’s industrial chain globally, part of the multi-national corporations choose to shrink their supply chain, hampering the in-depth development of international trade.

2.      China’s export, in particular the high-end oriented export, has confronted dual challenges from developed countries and other emerging countries.

3.      The international competition applies more retrofit methods. For example, the currencies in some nations are artificially controlled to be devalued, leading to the appreciation of CNY in the international market. Such a method adds direct disadvantages to the competitiveness of China’s export commodities in global market.

By directly admitting these pressures that China’s export now encounters, there are advantages of China’s export currently as well. The industrial base of export remains profound, while the overseas investment and cooperation also impel the expanding of export. Transformation and upgrading of enterprises in China and policy supports from Government add advantages to the development of export as well.
