Wellington aircraft cabin maker B/E Aerospace has been selected by a major global airline to do the cabin interiors of its new wide-body aircraft, a contract valued at more than $140 million, said B/E Chairman Amin Khoury Tuesday.
The award is initially worth more than $140 million. B/E did not reveal the name of the airline. More than 1,100 deliveries of the new wide-body aircraft are expected from 2008 through 2011, B/E Aerospace said.
Earlier this month, B/E Aerospace secured a $200 million contract from Embraer. The Wellington firm will supply upholstered and ergonomic executive seats and sofas for Embraer's new business jets, Legacy 450 and Legacy 500 aircraft.
In June, B/E Aerospace agreed to pay $1.05 billion on cash and stock for Honeywell's fastener, gasket and electrical components business.
