It was learned that American fastener industry mainly relies on the demand by manufacturing industry and construction industry. Since the outbreak of financial crisis in 2008, the downturn of real estate industry appeared, which led to the sharp decrease of fastener demand. It was the same for aerospace industry and home appliance industry, greatly affecting fastener production from 2008 to 2010. However, the major manufacturing industry gradually recovered after 2010 and IBISWorld forecasted American fastener industry would increased by 2.3% in 2013.
