According to Vietnamese newspaper, recently 18 Vietnamese steel mills are jointly requesting the Ministry of Industry & Trade to postpone the anti-dumping (AD) duty levy on importing cold-rolled stainless steels.

Reportedly, those steel enterprises believe that the anti-dumping duties, if implemented, would cause huge losses to domestic businesses and consumers. Now in Vietnam, stainless steel prices higher than the international prices by 10%-20%, cheap raw steels from China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Taiwan are demanded by domestic steel mills. The proposed anti-dumping duties will lead to rise in the import prices, which is likely to suspend those imports.
