Taiwan's China Steel Corp. (CSC) has announced to hike its wire rod prices by NT$300/ton on Jan. 23rd.

The company’s price of electric furnace (EF) Al-killed steel wire rod will be NT$20,700/ton, as its actual selling price in the market will be about NT$19,500~20,200/ton.

In fact, most of the market participants expected that CSC will keep its February price flat.

CSC said the main reason for price hike is coming from the dropping NT dollar exchange rate. Besides, Taiwan's screw makers have received more orders recently which have supported the demand for wire rod.
