Chinese Fastener Market Share in American Market Rises Sharply Reaching 25%

According to the news from China Fastener Industry Association, The proportion of China export products in America fastener import volume rises sharply reaching 25% from 2001 to 2006. It has risen 16 percent points within five years, under a greatly year-on-year increasing trend, while the propositions of products from Chinese competitors Taiwan and Korea are under decrease, dropping from 32% to 29%, 5% to 3% respectively from 2001 to 2006.

In 2006, American import value amounts to about 4.67 billion US dollars, while China ranks second among America's import countries, with the lowest product price of the six top import countries: Taiwan (29%), China (25%), Japan (12%), Canada (9%), Germany (4%), and Korea (3%). Their average export unit prices are 2.0USD/Kilogram,1.0USD/Kilogram,3.6USD/Kilogram,2.5USD/Kilogram,6.1USD/Kilogram,1.6USD/Kilogram respectively.
