Standard parts industry is one special pillar industry in Yongnina, owing 2400 manufacturing enterprises and 4000 distribution companies. There are more than 300,000 personel working on this industry. The total output of standard parts in Yongnian reached 2.62 million tons in the value of Renminbi ￥ 18.2 billion Yuan in 2010. With market construction area of 260,000 square meters, Yongnian’s standard part market attract 25,000 visitors everyday. Yongnian has established export-oriented enterprises all over China and owned 15,000 salesrooms. The annual sales volume in Yongnian is more than 3 million tons and equal to about Renminbi ￥ 20 billion Yuan. Yongnina is the largest production base and distributing center in China; it is awarded the title of “the city of Chinese fastener”.

The government of Yongnian announces it will establish comprehensive research institute of standard parts in Heibei province in recent to further accelerate the industrial structure adjustment of standard parts, to upgrade the level of standard parts industry, and to realize healthy and sustainable development.

At present, the competitiveness of standard parts in Yongnian is low for the absence of specialized technology and R&D organization. Hence, Yongnian’s fasteners are with low tech and added-value. Though the enterprises of standard parts are energetic in technology innovation and over 20 enterprises organize a tech-solution group, the group cannot play its role due to the absence of research budget and talents, the long research period, and the high cost.
