Facing frequent anti-dumping charges and anti-subsidy cases of hardware products in the global market, the domestic hardware industry has been affected dramatically. The reasons behind are as follows:  

 

1. The disorder of the hardware exporting system, which can trigger anti-dumping cases as the scale of hardware export is enlarging.

 

2. The low added-value in the hardware products, which deprives us of the share in the mid- and high-end market
 
3. Most of the hardware products exported fall into the low-and mid-end category, which have an edge over other countries in the terms of cost.

 

4. The lack of warning system for anti-dumping also attributes to the frequent anti-dumping cases against Chinese spare parts enterprises.

 

5. Facing the fierce competition, domestic hardware enterprises have been taking low-price strategy to grasp market share, which, in turn, would trigger anti-dumping cases more easily.

 

Due to the limit of demand in domestic market, the overseas market, has become the wrestling arena for domestic enterprises. The recent elimination of exporting rebate tax of some hardware products is squeezing the profit margin of the hardware industry, affecting some products like fasteners to a great extent. In the view of this, the only way for the development of domestic hardware industry is to increase technical content, enhance added-value and expand categories. In addition, the industry associations have to bring their influence into full play and set up related standards, so as to improve the healthy development of the hardware industry.
