Bossard Group, Zug, Switzerland, reported sales of CHF 311.5 million (US$328.6 million) in the first six months of the 2013 business year, an increase of 23.9 percent. In local currencies, sales increased 22.7 percent. Profit for the first six months was CHF 28.6 million (US$30.2 million), an increase of 29 percent.

In Europe, sales increased 43.8 percent to CHF 195.5 million (US$206.2 million) compared to the same period a year earlier. The jump was primarily due to the acquisition of the KVT-Fastening business in the final quarter of the 2012 business year.

In America sales were CHF 73.1 million (US$77.1 million) which, when adjusted for the divestment of Bossard Metrics Inc., corresponds to a 3.1 percent increase compared to last year.

In the Asian markets, the Bossard Group improved sales by 7.7 percent to CHF 42.9 million (US$45.2 million). The growth can be attributed to a slight recovery in the market and demand from new customers. (Source: Modern Distribution Management)
