Bossard Group Sales Up 5.6% in 1Q 2014

The Bossard Group, Switzerland, reported sales for the first quarter of CHF 161.5 million (US$182.6 million), an increase of 5.6 percent year-over-year.
In Europe, sales increased to CHF 106.5 million (US$120.4 million), up 8.4 percent in local currency.
In America, sales were CHF 34 million (US$38.4 million), a decline of 7.8 percent in local currency. This decline was due primarily to weaker demand from a major customer.
In Asia, sales were CHF 21 million (US$23.7 million), up 17.2 percent from the first quarter of 2013.With the exception of India, all Asian countries experienced growth in sales.
