Twin Ocean Railway Planed To Build 3000 Kilometers

On May 22th, it was said in Lima by Premier of China, Mr. Li Keqiang and President of Peru, Mr. Umara that Brazil, Peru and China decided to co-work on the feasibilities research of Twin Ocean Railway Construction Project, and accelerate the schedule of tripartite-jointed working group.

Premier Li indicated that endeavor would be paid to achieve substantial progress and accelerated the industrialization and urbanization of Latin America when protecting the environment and biodiversity. It is realized that this visitation also gave support to the China-invested enterprises in Peru.

Duties of each party will be in line with the obligation stipulation signed by three parties in November, 2014. China Railway Eryuan Engineering Group Co., Ltd will take charge of working on the feasibilities research of Twin Ocean Railway Construction Project. Based on the latest statistics, this Twin Ocean Railway will be totally about 5,000 kilometers long, within which the 2,000-kilometer-long railway was built before and the left 3,000 kilometers will to be built. It is said that the total budget of this project will reach to 60 Billion USD.

In order to reduce the time and cost of shipping construction materials from Asia, an international open bid will be introduced for the Twin Ocean Railway Construction Project, confirmed by the three parties. The three parties will also seek for possible cooperation with World Bank and the State Development Banks of BRICS.
