US sets anti-dumping tax against imported NOES from 6 countries

It is reported that US Government will impose anti-dumping duty on imported non-oriented electrical steel (NOES) from Taiwan, China, Germany, Japan, South Korea and Sweden.

Taiwan’s China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest steel maker in Taiwan, and Leicong Industrial will face final ruling by Department of Commerce by November 17th.

For now, CSC faces a 27.54% rate while Leicong faces 52.23% rate and countervailing duty of 17.12%.

According to the US DOC's statistics, Taiwan's NOES exports to the US fell by near 50% to US$8.14 million in 2013 from US$17.25 million recorded in 2012.
