There are more and more automobiles in Wuhan, but the local matching moulds of high quality are very little. It's known from authorities that Wuhan will invest RMB1,000,000,000 to build the biggest mould manufacturing project of Middle China------"Wuhan Mould Industrial Park", promoting local moulds and automobile industry to realize "Alliance". After this project being put into operation, it will expand employment opportunities for about 15,000 people.

It's known that this mould industrial project plans to be established in south Wuhan development area mechanical & electrical industrial park, with the infrastructure construction investment of RMB1,000,000,000. "Wuhan mould industrial park"construction project will begin in January the next year, it's expected to be finished at the end of 2009. The annual industrial production value of this project will no less than RMB3,000,000,000 in the early stage of operation.

In recent days, the related person in charge of south Wuhan development area said, in order to quicken carrying on the east industry shift steps, the industrial park area will bring in 200 mould manufacturing enterprises from Shandong, Guangdong, Jiangsu etc. areas which are advanced in manufacturing industries. There have been already three companies agreed a series of initiatives at the moment, it's hopeful to enter the industrial park at the end of 2009.

The industry experts point that, mould industry is called as "The mother of industry", the ratio of input and benefits is 1:10. In the recent more than 10 years, Chinese mould industry production value increases by the speed of 15% each year, it reached to RMB65,000,000,000 last year. Five provinces like Shandong, Guangdong, Jiangsu etc. hold a advantage and take up 80% of the whole nation's production value. However, the manufacturers in Wuhan area are small in number and of low grade, its production value is only taking up 2% of the whole nation's.

"Dongfeng automobile company held an mould bid inviting some days ago, but the ones which won the bids were all companies from other places, the local companies didn't meet the matching qualifications of Dongfeng. Yesterday, the responsible officer of mechanical & electrical industrial park said that the matching products lagging behind had dragged the automobile industry development.

It's reported that the keystone in the initial stage of this project is matching the automobile industry chain of Wuhan, basing on the principal of bringing in advanced enterprises of developed areas in mould producing to form the matching cluster effect earlier."

Officer from Wuhan Development and Reform Commission said that Wuhan has a more and more needs of all kinds of moulds of high technology in the process of accelerating the development of automobile and other important projects. It's of great urgency that establishing a mould production base of industrial agglomeration, proper size and technology---intensive to push the modern industrial development of Wuhan.
