The 17th National Fastener Economy Trade & Technology Symposium has convened in the international hotel of Shanghai Everbright Convention and Exhibition Center on November 26, 2007.The meeting is held by China Machinery and Fastener Association of Part Components Industry Association (formerly China Fastener Industry Association), attracting more than 500 representatives of fastener industry enterprises, fastener associations and media from home and aboard. The meeting has also set up a fund of one million for responding to antidumping.
The host of the symposium Mr. Feng, chairman of China fastener association extended warm welcome to all business representatives from Germany, England, Italy and France and all business people in fastener industry. Mr. Feng also made an important statement in the meeting on behalf of China fastener association. Through reporting the current status of China fastener industry and analyzing the present EU-antidumping case, Mr. Feng pointed out that China fastener industry still has a huge market demand and maintains a rapid growth in spite of facing all kinds of difficulties and challenges; Mr. Feng called on all enterprises to unite together to face the antidumping; we must hold an positive attitude toward all challenges.
Subsequently, Chairman Liu Yuanjie, on behalf of China Machinery and Part Components Industry Association Fastener Association delivered a speech. Mr. Liu made a comprehensive analysis on the current status of the domestic fasteners industry, he said that the Chinese fasteners industry should make efforts in the product innovation and competitiveness and meet new challenges.
The special guests Mr. Berrang, chairman of European Fastener distributor association (EFDA) and Mr. Phil from European fastener magazine, have both gave a significant speech. When come to the topic of EU antidumping against Chinese fasteners, Mr. Berrang presented his own opinion on this issue. He expressed his disagreement on EU antidumping and pointed out that international trade calls for liberalization and is against any trade protection policy including all kinds of anti-dumping; trade friction is not conducive to healthy and harmonious development of Sino-EU trade relation. At the same time, Mr. Berrang, shared some conditions of EFDA with the guests and discussed the prospect of the future direction of China-EU trade cooperation. While Phil made a brief analysis on EU antidumping basing on the specific data supplied by EU, as well as the standards and conditions for EU antidumping.
The afternoon meeting started at 2:30 pm, Mr. Wang Ding’an, the CEO of www.Luosi.com , as the fist speaker of fastener industry media, gave a wonderful speech focusing on the topic of anti-dumping and the current situation of fastener industry. Mr. Wang pointed out that everyone in this industry should be taken into account on the process of improving fastener industry. Everybody makes a little effort and fastener industry will be improved a lot. Mr. Wang appeals to all to unite together and contribute ourselves to China fastener industry or even the world fastener industry.
Other representatives from the General Hebei Shahe mechanical parts market, Nanjing Baori Wire Products Mfg. Co., Ltd and other enterprises also present their opinions.
It is worth to mention that Mr. Cai Zhiyuan, head of the board in China International Industrial Fasteners Exhibition & Purchasing Center (CIFC) was deeply influenced by the atmosphere of solidarity and took initiative to donor one million Yuan as a fund for responding to antidumping.
On the following day, the exhibition of fastener products and trade negotiation was held on the second floor of the Everbright Convention and Exhibition Center. More than 500 enterprises took part in this exhibition and exchanged their opinions in an amazing atmosphere, which left a great impression to European association representatives. The two- day meeting has turned out a complete success.
