On April 11th, 2016, The Taiwan International Fastener Show was declared at the impressive Kaohsiung Exhibition Centre, welcoming numerous fasteners manufacturers, distributors, traders and purchasers to the site.
Hosted by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and co-hosted by the Kaohsiung city government, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), and the Taiwan Industrial Fastener Institute, the Taiwan Show had over 402 exhibitors and include a wide a wide range of fastener producers and traders.
The show consists of four main sections – the Fastener Products Area, the Machine, Mould and Hand Tool Area, the Foreign Companies Area, and the Cross-Strait Area. What was prominent from the second you walked into either hall – separated by a central atrium – was that there were some eye-catching stands came from Mainland China.
Throughout the first day the stands and aisles were full of local and international visitors, with a satisfying hum of noise within both halls that shows that business was being done. Those that particularly caught the eye included Sansega Industry Co., Ltd, Hangzhou Lizhan Hardware Co., Ltd, Hisener Industrial Co., Ltd, Yuyao Biaoer Trading Co., Ltd, Jinan Star Fastener Co., Ltd, Shanghai Jingyang Imp. & Exp Co., Ltd, Ningbo Xingyi Fasteners Co., Ltd, Changyu 5. Rich Hardware Co., Ltd and Haiyan Hongmao Hardware Products Co., Ltd.

Anchor T.H. Chang, chairman of the Taiwan Industrial Fasteners Institute (TIFI), explained that what made the Taiwan Show such a unique event is its location between Gangshan and Luzhu – which when combined with Kaohsiung boasts a large cluster of the global fastener supply chain. This enables visitors to come to the Taiwan Fastener show and then visit the factories around the area, after the show.
2016 Global Fastener Leaders Summit
Also on the first day was the Global Fastener Leader Summit, which gathered professionals from around the globe. The speaker line-up included Dr Volker Lederer from the European Fastener Distributors Association (EFDA), Marc Strandquist from the National Fastener Distributors Association (NFDA) in the USA, Dr Gian Marco Dal Pane from the Italian Union of Fastener Distributors (UDIB), as well as Anchor T.H. Chang.
