What we meet are price rising of materials, reducing of export rebate, cost rising of labors, appreciation of Euro (according to RMB), EU’s anti-dumping, etc. Chinese companies try their best to save resources and produce low added value products, however, they have to face anti-dumping! What a grim fastener world!

2, What Kind of Fastener World We Want?

Output matches production value. Chinese fastener production and sales value hold 1/3-1/4 of the world’s total value.1/2 or even more will be the best.

Production craftwork and management: Informationization, intensivism and intelligentization. We should change the present situation that our investment and producing are extensive. During the Five Regions Fastener Association Conference this year, we visited several Japanese companies; they gave us a strong impression for their high- informationization and high- intelligentization.

Create World-famous Brand Just a few days before, Ningbo Eastport Fastener Manufacturing Co., Ltd was awarded Chinese-famous brand. It’s a landmark of creating world-famous brand. Besides, there should be more than 10 listed companies in Chinese fastener industry, however, there are only one now in mainland China.

Active Transfer in Chinese Fastener Industry Production of fasteners has been transferred from Japan to Taiwan, from Taiwan to mainland China, to Southeast Asia, even Africa. Now we should design and produce high & medium-end products in home, and invest in other countries to produce low-end products.

3, Who Can Change the Fastener World?

Now we meet something serious that is EU’s anti-dumping. If the anti-dumping is confirmed, we have to face a duty of 95% - 195%, which will be a heavy blow to Chinese fastener industry. At that time, the competition of domestic market will be more drastic. Then, who can change the situation? Who can change the fastener world?

Is Chinese government or China General Machine Components Industry Association or Chinese Fastener Association? Yes, they have prepared to respond, but if they can lead the situation to something we want only by themselves?

Is European, American or Taiwan Distribution Association? Yes, they have done a lot for us as they offer very useful data and points, we appreciate it very much. However, if we can get things we want only with the help of them?

Or should we pin our hope on those large companies, corporations with more than 100 million production value, famous companies, and leading companies?

Actually, as Mr. Fanyulong, chairman of Ningbo Fastener Association said, Chinese companies are all very politic, they will never do business at a loss. EU has listed 3012 companies while our Chinese Fastener Association gets the information that there are over 1700 companies. If there are only several to respond, we will never win in the case.

But to assume, if there are more than 1,000 companies to respond, the response will be very powerful and we can show some facts to EU.

If we want to create the situation we want, if we want to change this fastener world, we should combine all the factors above together, combine all the people of this field together, you & me.
