History of Shing Hing
1977, Shing Hing was established in Hongkong, which specialized in different kinds of hardware, molds and puncher pins.
1987, Shing Hing set up its fastener factory in Hongkong.
1993, another fastener factory was built in Fenggang, Dongguan city.
1998, obtaining ISO 9002 Certification
2001, obtaining ISO 9001:2000 Certification. Being awarded excellent Quality Certificate by Hongkong Trade and Industry Department.
2003, a new 16,000 m2 factory was built in Fenggang, Dongguan.
2004,obtaining ISO 14001 & ISO/TS 16949 Certification. Being awarded excellent Quality certificate by Hongkong Trade and Industry Department again. Wining the champion of “SME Accounting Management Excellence Award” given by ACCA Hongkong Branch

Building up the factory from nothing, Only with the help of honesty
A plaque, with the words “Doing business based on honesty, to make this industry and our world prosperous” on it, is hung on the wall of Mr. Xu’s office. It shows the spirit of Shing Hing. “I believe the most important thing in our lives and business is honesty, without it, we couldn’t succeed.”
Now Shing Hing has become an enterprise with 750 employees and a 16000 m2 factory, which is the result of Mr. Xu’s keeping faith. Being asked about his striving, Mr. Xu seems a bit excited before he shares us with his experience:
“It was really an enterprise without anything except me, lacking of capital, labor, factory and customers. Generally, people set up a manufactory only after he has products, customers and market. However, I couldn’t do this in that situation but to visit the manufactories in Hongkong, do my best to solve the problems of them. Of course, I told them I had no manufactory yet. Because of my honesty, some of my customers began to trust in me, and gave me some orders. That’s the origin of my business.”
“When my business was up to some degree, I began to pay more attention to customer service. At that time, the quality of the products we imported from other manufactories was not the same, some was good, some was bad. As a result, the delivery date was always delayed, leading some inconvenience to my customers. To solve this problem, at one time, I often imported products in advance to reduce the pressure of delivery date, however, it still couldn’t meet the needs of customers. So I got an idea of building up a factory and I made it real in 1987 when I set up Shing Hing in Hongkong with my friends, which was the beginning of the integration of producing and selling. Later, I was apart from my friend for the difference of business concept. In 1993, I came to Fenggang, Dongguan city and set up a factory there, where my business restart and began to fly.”
Though toilsome it is, 30 years striving seems a wonderful experience to Mr. Xu. Talking about the quality of products, Xu says as usual: “Honesty is the most important thing.” He believes the quality of products is one of the aspects of honesty. So Shing Hing has always given much importance to honesty as they produce the products strictly according to the needs of customers. Therefore, Shing Hing set up the quality administration system, to meet the quality needs of customers. Besides, Shing Hing has a whole set of experimental equipment such as Hexavalent Chrome tester, salt mist tester, etc. There are always rarely fastener manufactories having their own laboratory with which they can provide their customers with products data, but Shing Hing does.

Being a man with social responsibility, Xu is the progenitor of Hongkong fastener industry.
Mr. Xu believes that a man can do business well only when he is honest, a man can benefit other people when he does business well.
In Hongkong fastener industry, each enterprise does things in its own way, so there had not been a fastener association for a long time. Xu thinks a business man should not care only for his business but develop with the industry hand in hand, to maximize the profit, to make as more contribution to society as he can. With this idea, Xu began to connect with craft brothers, making preparation for building up the association.
Jan 13th, 2004, Hongkong Fastener Association was born. As the founder, Mr. Xu was elected to be the president of the association, which is worth his prestige.
As the leader of Hongkong fastener industry, Xu has his own original view toward the present situation of Honkong, and even Chinese fastener industry. He considers there always has been competition in every industry, however, he encourages healthy competition in Hongkong fastener industry, that is competition in quality, technique and service, with which we can increase added value and improve the quality of fasteners, finally make our fastener industry step into international market. Xu says that there is great potential in Chinese fastener industry as Chinese fasteners hold a high percentage in the world market. However, the quality of Chinese fastener is in the middle and lower ranks. Therefore, the direction of our industry is producing high rank, high added value fasteners. Meanwhile, we should promote our brand as well as making full use of our resource such as cooperating with the domestic steel industry.
Mr. Xu often attends four-place fastener association meetings (Japan, Korea, Mainland China, Taiwan), to hold the whole developing direction of fastener industry, to gain the experience and advanced technique of other enterprises, leading more profit to Hongkong fastener industry.
Not only as the president of Hongkong Fastener Association, Mr. Xu also holds some positions in other industry associations, meanwhile, he gives lessons to the students of several universities in Hongkong. He tells us with smile: “Your paying out will finally be rewarded, each business man should have the social responsibility.”
His ambition is to lead Shing Hing to the world market
In respect of the planning of Shing Hing, Mr. Xu shows his great confidence:” Our long-term aim is to be dominant in mainland China market, to be a world-known fastener manufacturer.” Though most of the customers of Shing Hing are foreign buyers at present, Mr. xu has his eye on domestic market which is in full flourish, so it comes the planning above.
It’s no doubt that Shing Hing has many advantages; Honesty: honesty is the essence of the enterprise. Quality: quality is fundamental to Shing Hing’s development. Service: Shing Hing promises to provide their customers with most excellent service. People foremost: Shing Hing gives its respect to every staff, pays attention to their outside and inside quality. Technique: Shing Hing has always worked at the researching and designing of technique.
We have great confidence that Mr. Xu will lead Shing Hing to a very bright future and be a world-known fastener manufacturer as he is such a wise leader with long heads.
