The first U.S and China Business Federation Cooperation and Development Forum was held in Beijing on 7th, Dec, 2009, with the subject of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) program, discussing how companies engage stakeholders to facilitate communication, current CSR objectives, and potential future CSR development. More than 140 participants had been invited for the forum, including press.
Chairman Huang Mengfu from All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce (ACFIC), Senior executive of U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Vice Minister of Ministry of Commerce MOFCOM and Mr. Robert Goldbeg, Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S Embassy in Beijing gave a speech in the welcoming Ceremony .Mr. Huang Mengfu appointed that: “There are wide and close cooperation between
U.S. Chamber of Commerce and All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce. These two organizations are sharing many comment interests in promoting world economic prosperity, sustainable development and social stability, launching new commodities and exploring service markets and strengthening cooperation and information exchange.” An effective communication channel is built up for the two countries industry, seeking mutually beneficial and win-win Sino-US economic and trade relations."
This forum are divided into three section, the first section shares perspectives on different companies’ CSR programs; the session two discuss how companies develop and implement innovative and effective CSR programs and the third section discusses how companies engage stakeholders to facilitate communication, current CSR objectives and potential future CSR developments.
At last, Mr. Sun Xiaohua, vice Chairman of ACFIC, and senior executive of U.S Chamber of Commerce sign the Sino-US memo on behalf of two countries.
