Boeing has received final approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for the all-new 787 Dreamliner.

The certification clears the way for Boeing to deliver its first Dreamliner to All Nippon Airways (ANA) on 25 September 2011.

ANA plans to fly its first jet from Boeing's plant in Everett, Washington, US, on 27 September 2011 to reach Tokyo.

The 787, Boeing's first new plane since the twin-aisle 777, will have a seating capacity of 250, and use lighter plastics composites and more electricity to let it fly longer distances using less fuel.

Boeing said that its 787 Dreamliner will incorporate larger windows, a lower cabin altitude and cleaner air.

The Japanese carrier plans to use the jet on domestic routes initially and then begin flights to Europe next year.
