The famous Germany of Colon Hardware Show which sponsored once 2 years was opened on March 5. This show attracted the professional enterprises which are from more than 30 countries and regions. China's securities regulator said Wednesday it has joined an international securities investigative agreement that will help it solve cross-border regulatory problemsand achieve a higher level of market regulation. The China Securities Regulatory Commission said it received approval to be a signatory member of the International Organization of Securities Commission (IOSCO) at the ongoing IOSCO's 32rd annual conference in Mumbai, India. A total of 41 securities regulators have been approved, the commission said in a press release. It said the signatories will help the IOSCO to boost securitiessupervision and launch more effective crackdowns on securities-related crimes. It noted the accord will enable it to get assistance from foreign signatory members when investigating insider dealings, stock price manipulations, and other types of cheating on domesticstock markets. The signatory will also help China play a more active role in formulating international securities regulations, the commission added. IOSCO was founded in 1983 in Madrid of Spain with the aim of providing effective surveillance of international securities transactions to maintain just, efficient and sound stock markets.

WTO dispute settlement procedures stipulate 60 days for consultations between the United States and China. If the consultations fail, the United States could ask for a WTO panel to investigate and rule on the dispute. The two new cases represent the latest effort by the Bush administration to increase pressure on China in the area of trade despite Beijing's active efforts in cracking down on piracy. In late March, the U.S. government announced its decision to impose penalty tariffs against the imports of Chinese coated free sheet paper, a decision altering a 23 year-old bipartisan policy of not applying the countervailing duty (CVD) law to China. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday responded strongly to the latest U.S. move at the WTO, saying it "runs contrary to the consensus between the leaders of the two nations about strengthening bilateral trade ties and properly solving trade disputes." "It will seriously undermine the cooperative relations the two nations have established in the field and will adversely affect bilateral trade," a spokesman said.
