On March 16th, 2008, Chinafastener.com joins fastener visiting group and begins the trip from Shanghai to Moscow for Fastec-2008. It seems Russia is quite near China, but it still takes 10-hour flight. Russian Time is 5 hours later than Chinese time.   Viewing from the plane, there is a unique landscape in Moscow. Russia’s season is quite different from that in Southern Area. As it is a warm winter for most European countries, you can not find heavy snow in Moscow. Warm Winter   Upon arriving in Moscow’s airfield, the first impression is that it takes a long time to pass the immigration desk and it is said that, in generally, 50 to 100 USD will be blackmailed by the police at the immigration. The guide says Blackmail is very common in Moscow and we had better not go out alone. When at Rome, do as the Rome do. We should try to be patient and keep waiting anytime in Moscow, as the pace of life in Russia is a very slow.  However, Moscow is currently the city of the world's highest consumption.   We stay in Moscow COMOS HOTEL (Cosmos Hotel), a four-star hotel of entertainment, recreation, accommodation.   The second day is preparing the booths. The exhibition hall is not very big as this is a professional fastener show. There are about 150 enterprises (including 50 from Mainland China, 30 from Taiwan) exhibited in this show. Chinese enterprises cover more than half of the whole, which hits a record and it is a good beginning.   On March, 18, it is the fist day of the show. However, there are few visitors in the exhibition hall, as the morning of the fist day is still for preparation in Russia. As a result, the enterprises take the opportunity to communicate together and discuss the market status of Russia.   The atmosphere becomes much better on March 19. Most of visitors are fastener buyers. Hong Kong Screw and fastener Council 3rd Executive Committee Inauguration Ceremony cum Annual Dinner is held in Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre at the evening of March, 21st. The meeting has absorbed more than 300 guests from Mainland China, including executive committee members of Hong Kong Screw and Fastener Council, delegates from different Guangzhou fastener councils, fastener industry medium and so on.   The meeting includes cocktail party, Inauguration ceremony, annual dinner and wonderful performance. Mr. Leung Boren, director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong, Mr. Yin Dominic, Mr. Feng Jinyao, honorable Chairman of Hong Kong Screw and fastener Council, and Chairman of Hong Kong Screw and fastener Council give a speech in the meeting. Warrants of appointment are conferred to all new executive committee members.    All guests give their best wishes to the new executive Committee and discuss the current situation of Chinese fastener industry. Many guests have given gifts to Hong Kong Screw and fastener Council.   The 3rd Executive Committee Inauguration Ceremony cum Annual Dinner ends in a wonderful success at 10 pm.

March 9th, 2008, the first day of the expected fair comes. All the exhibitors arrive at koelnmesse before 9:00 to prepare for the arrival of visitors. About 100 exhibitors from mainland China attend the fair. Under the bad environment of on-going anti-dumping case and rise of materials, the enterprises are still passionate for promotion and publicity. Many of them come from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai and other cities. There are also about 10 delegation teams organized by exhibition companies  appearing in the show. Exhibitors from mainland China The number of exhibitors comes from Taiwan reaches about 50, almost of which are the frequent fastener exhibitors. Another two groups, formed by Fastener World Inc and Kaigo separately, also join in the fair. Almost all the member organized by Fastener World Inc are the fastener manufacturer. Exhibitors from Taiwan The booth of Taiwan enterprises looks very beautiful, most of which mainly display the image and products. It’s obvious that they are experienced and deliberate. While the enterprises from mainland China put emphasis on the promotion of products and the layout of the booth is relatively simple. Today is the first day of the fair, but it is not as good as expected, because today is Sunday and Europeans usually rest on the day.  So there are not many visitors, the exhibitors are mainly exchanges with each other. But some visitors from other countries also take part in the show and have a slightly rise of visitors in the afternoon. Although the magazine is a little bit of weight, all the foreigner pack it in the bag and expect to receive the next issue. Fastener industry is not big, but to the visitors, they can find it is a great encouragement and consolation to find a Website or a magazine devoting to this industry. All the distinguished guests and friends, Good days. We gain a new harvest year through all the staff and industrial leaders’ efforts and cooperation, though the adjustment of tax rebate policy to some extent has brought so negative impact on the whole industry.   It is expected that the annual fastener output will reached 5 million tons, rising 13% from the corresponding period, while sales volume is 44 billion RMB, with a year-on-year increase of 15%. According to our preliminary statistics, the export volume is 2.5 million tons, up 21%. Our foreign exchange is 3.15 billion Yuan with an increase of 31%. All these achievements are credited to you all here. As we all know, as entering into 2008, our entire industry will face an awesome task.   This afternoon, we held a president meeting of the entire industry to analyze the whole market situation as well as discuss how we face series of problems emerging in 2008. We come to consensus through our serious discussion: As a whole, we should get a clear understanding of the current situation, seek unity of thinking and inspire enthusiasm to face all the difficulties; we must seek the opportunity, develop in through adjustment, while perform adjustment through development in order to boost fastener industry. We must stick to the scientific concept of development and rely on the advance of science and technology to accelerate the adjustment of product structure, market structure, the price structure and the whole industry structure. We try hard to effect three transformations in the industry: transform from seeking quantity to seeking quality and benefit, from being large and all-embracing to being refined, from manufacturing enterprises to manufacturing and trading enterprises. Thanks to the three transformations, the growth pattern of fastener industry has been under great change in order to promote the sustained and stable development of fastener industry, which is our consensus forming in the meeting. I believe that the New year 2008 bring us both challenge and opportunity. Respected leaders, friends from the fastener industry, ladies and gentlemen, It's nice to meet you in this beautiful evening. I am Cai Kaixiang , General manager of CIFC. First I must thank Mr. Feng for giving me this opportunity to do the New Year work report. I send my best wishes to all the guests here on behalf of CIFC. Our company focuses on operating professional markets. At present we have successfully developed six professional markets. Since the start of CIFC project, the governments of Zhejiang Province, Jiaxing City, Haiyan county have attach great importance. The leaders at all levels personally inspected the project for guidance the work. Haiyan County Government grants the preferential policies to the stationed enterprises, such as full rewarding of the locally retained portion from the paid-in enterprise income tax in the first three year. Since April 7th, Haiyan County Government, together with the professional investment team of CIFC, hold investment promotion in China's major fasteners production area such as Wenzhou, Ningbo, Haiyan, Guangdong, Hebei. Up to now there have been more than 700 enterprises fasteners stationed in the market. Moreover, China national center for Quality Supervision and Test of standard parts and Zhejiang Haitaike Part R & D center have entered the market, which can not only provide priority quality inspection services for the enterprises and business operators, but also provide them with R & D services and technical support to enhance their competitiveness in the market. In addition, we will spend tens of millions of RMB in advertising every year through newspapers, television, outdoor, Internet and magazines. At the same time, the on-line fasteners procurement center will be set up to broaden the sales. In order to ensure the prosperity of the market, the global purchaser investment promotion has started. We will conduct promotions in numerous international exhibitions in 2008 to attract more international procurement organizations. In April and October 2007 we successfully held two exhibitions which attracted more than 400 exhibitors. The first phase is already finished and will be opened in the autumn of 2008, while the second phase will be launched next spring.  Such a brilliant success is bound up with the support of everyone here. We proceed in Bonn to the location of the exhibition in Cologne at 8:30am, Germany local time March 8th, 2008. Today is the first day of preparation for 2008 International Hardware Fair / Practical World.   Due to time difference, Most of Chinese exhibitors get up at early at 5:00am and enjoy the traditional German breakfast "Coffee or Tea". We are bound for the exhibition hall after breakfast.   After more than half an hour's trip, we arrive at Koelnmessse (Hall 6), the hall for Chinese exhibitors. We feel a deep urge to find and decorate our booths.   The booths of Mainland China exhibitors are very sample, with some advertising pictures and samples. It is a headache for us to plaster the advertising pictures as we can not dirty the clapboards when pluck the pictures down after the show; otherwise we have to pay for it. As a result, we have to use unique adhesive plaster.At last, we make it.   Mostly, two Chinese exhibitors share a 12 square meters booth, as the booths are in short supply every year. Some exhibitors from Mainland China will also follow Taiwan exhibition group. On Jua.23, the fastener industry New-Year Banquet is held at Shanghai Yinhe Hotel, which is co-hosted by luosi.com and the fastener association of CMCI. The leaders from 13 industry associations, together with representatives from 50 enterprises have attended the reception and had an enjoyable evening.  The representatives are from the fastener association of CMCI, Ningbo Fastener Industry Association, Yongnian Fastener Association, CIFC, Gem-year Group, F.Reyher (shanghai), etc. At 6 p.m., a splendid Lion Dance opens the reception. First, Mr. Feng Jinyao and Mr. Yang Junfeng, director of luosi.com together held an Eye Opening Ceremony for the Lion Dance team. After the Lion Dance, the banquet starts. Mr. Wang Shihong, General-manager of the fastener association of CMCI first gives toast and makes wishes for the future of fastener industry. Mr. Feng Jinyao, expresses that Chinese fastener has harvested in 2007 although facing a lot of difficulties. He hopes everyone can unify in thinking, rise to the challenge, seeking for development and improve the whole industry relying on sci-tech progress. 2006 Germany of Colon Hardware Show was close on March 8.This show attracted more than 700 fastener enterprises which are from Mainland China and Hong Kong Region, of which the fastener manufacturers and traders are about 70, the others are tools, accessories, fasteners and DIY and so on. The show organizing committee taken on an evaluation on the new fastener products and new technology at the afternoon of March 8. It’s a pity that the entire awards won by the European enterprises that are advance in the patents and innovation, though Chinese enterprises are the major fastener exporters.
