The total import and export value of Jiaxing’s fastener was USD 209 million, of which, the export value dropped by 0.75% to USD 204 million while the import value decline by 18.02% to USD 5 million.

Main characteristics of Jiaxing’s fastener export in Q1:
America and Europe are still the dominant export markets. The export to these two markets was USD 83 million, taking up 40.69% of the totals. Among of that, the export to America down 22.94% year-on-year to USD 45 million while the export to EU down 11.82% to USD 38 million, accounting for 22.09% and 18.51% of the totals’ respectively. The export share to Russia, Saudia Arabia, and Chile saw an obvious increase, increasing by 50.79% to USD 29 million, 50.37% to USD 7 million, and 51.53% to USD 3 million, respectively.

The number of large-scale export enterprises decreases. There are only seven enterprises whose export value was above USD 5 million, four enterprises less from same period of last year. The total export value of these seven companies was USD 59 million, taking up 28.92% of the totals’. 

General trade is the main modes of trade. The fasteners exported in the mode of general trade were USD 191 million, up 2.08% year-on-year and taking up 93.58% of the total export value.

The export volume increases while the export price goes down. Jiaxing exported 154,351 tons fasteners in Q1, up 7.92% year-on-year. But the export value was USD 204 million, down 0.75% year-on-year. The average export price was 1,322 USD/TON, seeing a fall of 8% from the same period of last year (2012 Q1: 1440 USD/TON).
