From April 17-19, 4th edition of Manufacturing World was held at Portmesse Nagoya, Japan. Journalist of ChinaFastener.com came to this fair with 25th issue of ChinaFastener Magazine 華人螺絲.

Manufacturing World Nagoya is Asia's leading show where all kinds of cutting edge mechanical components/manufacturing services/IT solutions for any types of manufacturing industry gather. Manufacturing World Nagoya 2019 consisted of 5 shows, namely, 4th edition of Design Engineering & Manufacturing Solutions Expo, 4th edition of Mechanical Components & Materials Technology Expo, 3rd edition of Factory Facilities & Equipment Expo, 3rd edition of Aerospace Technology & Components Expo and 1st edition of Advanced 3D Printing Expo Nagoya.

1,150 exhibitors and over 40,000 visitors participated in this show. Exhibitors from mainland China included Shanghai Rivet Manufacture Co., Ltd., Hangzhou Grand Import & Export Co., Ltd., Jiangsu AWD Fastener Co., Ltd., and Suzhou Jinyuan Fastener Co., Ltd, etc.

Nagoya is not only a gathering place of Japanese manufacturing, but also the main gathering place of automotive, aerospace, machine tool and other high end industries. According to TSR, at present, there are 17,016 companies in Nagoya, which famous enterprises include Toyota and Kyocera Group.


According to Trade Statistics of Japan, quantity of import of fasteners in 2018 was about 330,000 metric tons. Compared to 2017, value of import was about 120 billion yen, with year on year growth of 7.7%. Quantity of export of fasteners in 2018 was around 370,000 metric tons, with year on year growth of 3.1%. Value of export was about 333 billion yen, with year on year growth of 2.4%. The average unit price decreased by 0.6%.

In 2018, top 3 countries or areas that Japanese fasteners exported to were mainland China, the U.S., and Thailand. In particular, Japan exported 89,941 metric tons fasteners to China, which accounted for 23.31% of the total quantity of export.

Generally speaking, in 2018, Japanese market condition was steady, and mainland China was still Japan’s biggest export market of fasteners. Compared to 2017, market share of Chinese fasteners in Japan decreased by 2.16%, but the average unit price increased by 9.24%.
The next edition will be held from April 15 – 17, 2020.
