Tacoma Screw Products is building its third Idaho branch in Idaho Falls.
The 10,000-square-foot store will look similar to its Boise and Twin Falls locations. Concrete walls are being erected now. The one-story building will be 100 feet by 100 feet and fairly high, at 32 feet tall, to accommodate a full line of fasteners, tools, maintenance, shop and industrial products.
Approximately seven people will work in the Idaho Falls store when it opens at 1835 N. Yellowstone Highway. Construction started in September and will wrap up in December. Construction costs weren’t disclosed. Tahoma Design Group is the architect. Baker Construction and Development is the general contractor.
Tacoma Screw Products Executive Adviser John Wolfe said the company is expanding into Idaho Falls because of new construction in the region.
"We were impressed with the quality of development happening in Idaho Falls,” Wolfe said.
Tacoma Screw Products is considering other potential locations for another Idaho branch, though Wolfe declined to say where they might be.
"We look at a number of factors including the growth of the community, what types of industries it currently has, and its customer base.”
The company, based in Tacoma, Wash., was founded in 1946, and has 15 stores throughout the Pacific Northwest. Tacoma Screw Products customers include manufacturing, construction, aerospace, maritime, agriculture and many other entities.
