Fastenal January Sales Up 6.7%

The Fastenal Co.reported sales for January of $293.2 million, an increase of 6.7 percent from the previous year. Daily sales increased 6.7 percent to an average of $13.3 million.
During the month, sales to manufacturing customers grew 6.6 percent, while sales to nonresidential construction customers grew 0.3 percent.
The unusual weather in January disrupted Fastenal's trucking network and caused two distribution centers to shut down for multiple days.
While no new stores opened in the month, employee headcount increased 16.4 percent year-over-year to 17,664.
