BEIJING, Oct. 24 -- Chinese automaker Dongfeng Automobile and its joint-venture partner Nissan Motors said on Friday they will recall more than 10,000 vehicles for a safety hazard in airbags, according to China's top quality watchdog.
Dongfeng planned to recall 11,055 vehicles from three joint-venture brands including Patrol, March and Sunny in China since Friday, according to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The recall of Nissans only involves 61 units of Infiniti QX56 and QX80 produced between March 15, 2013 and January 7, 2014 and will start on November 19.

The two car producers attributed the recall to safety hazard in the airbags and promised to replace the defective parts for free.
