DELO Industrial Adhesives concluded the fiscal year ending 31st March 2015 with sales of 74 million euros, representing an increase of 24% over the previous year’s figures.
Strongest growth was recorded in China and the USA with overseas revenues amounting to 70% of the total, the first time the medium-sized company has gained more than two thirds of its revenue outside Germany.
The company’s key pillars – the optical, electronics and automotive industries – were the growth drivers in the year. Revenues from automotive grew 22%. Sales of adhesives for electronic applications in smartphones, smart cards, RFID tags, and semiconductors, rose by more than 60%.
“Due to a 15% R&D share in revenues, a multitude of completed research projects, and a broad range of new products, we expected a clear plus for the past fiscal year,” said Dr Ing Wolf-Dietrich Herold, managing partner at DELO. “Such high growth rates also reflect the good economic situation.”
In the past year, the adhesive specialist hired 50 new employees and now employs 450 in total. DELO wants to create another 70 jobs this year, especially in engineering, R&D and production. The company also plans to expand its production facilities and build a new administration building at its headquarters in Windach, Germany.
“Even if we set the course towards further growth, we don’t intend to achieve it at all costs. We place higher importance on organic, profitable and sustainable growth,” added Dr Ing Herold.
