According to statistics published by National Bureau of Statistics, in August, the output of crude steel, cast iron and rolled steel increased rapidly.

Daily output of cast iron in August was 2.81 million tons, up 2.4% sequentially. Daily output of  crude steel was 2.29 million tons, up 4.2% sequentially. Daily output of rolled steel was 3.43 million tons, up 0.5% sequentially.

Output of cast iron in August was 71.17 million tons, an increase of 7.1% year on year. From January to August, total output of cast iron was 544.71 million tons, an increase of 6.9% year on year. Output of crude steel in August was 87.25 million tons, an increase of 9.3% year on year. From January to August, total output of crude steel was 664.87 million tons, an increase of 9.1% year on year. Output of rolled steel in August was 106.39 million tons, an increase of 9.8% year on year. From January to August, total output of rolled steel was 803.67 million tons, an increase of 11.0% year on year.

According to price index, since September, the price of steel has been going up gradually. This is because good weather is in favor of the production of downstream enterprises. Meanwhile, with the approaching of the National Day, measures of restricting the production of steel have been taken effect.
