The conference site

The annual Five Regions Fastener Association Conference started in Charles K. Kao Auditorium, Hong Kong Science Park, Oct.8^th, 2010. The conference sets “screw industry and environmental protection” as the theme and leaders of the association and business leaders and representatives of about 200 people which from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and Japan attended the conference. As the screw industry well - known media platform, Chinafastener.com attended the conference.

At noon on the same day, Hong Kong Screw & Fastener Council, which organized the conference, hosted a dinner in Happy Restaurant which in Hong Kong Science Park, to let everyone enjoy special food of Hong Kong. At one o'clock in the afternoon after the end of the lunch, the conference formally entered the theme.

The conference was chaired by Lin Zhi Ming, executive vice chairman of the Hong Kong Screw & Fastener Council. In the first part of the conference, Tsui Ping Kwong, the Permanent honorable Chairman of Hong Kong Screw & Fastener Council, Introduced specially invited guests of the conference——Huang You jia and Ms Maria kwan, the president of Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong and the commissioner of The Trade and Industry Department. And Tsui Ping Kwong let them to make the welcoming speeches. Next is the speeches which made by the five regions’ heads of the delegations. After the speech of The representatives, the meeting entered the most important part : overview of regional industry. 

Chan Siu Wai, the chairman  of Hong Kong Screw & Fastener Council，described the general situation of screw industry in Hong Kong.

At first, Chan Siu Wai, the chairman of Hong Kong Screw and Fastener Council, made detailed account  for the general situation of screw Industry of Hong Kong. President Chen detailed reported the imports and exports of screw type products which in Hong Kong, 2009. He pointed out that the total imports and exports were increasing in Hong Kong in 2009, but the import and export unit price dropped. He also suggested that the screw plating treatment brings the pollution to environment and put forward the proposal of environmental protection.  

Lee, Jung-Woo, director of Korea Federation of Fasteners Industry Cooperatives, described the general situation of screw industry in Korea.

Lee, Jung-Woo, director of Korea Federation of Fasteners Industry Cooperatives, reported the situation of Korean screw industry and CHQ Wire. Director Lee, Jung-Woo, According to the 2010 Korean economy status, simply predicted the market trends of screw industry in 2010. He used car market, the construction market and shipbuilding market as examples pointed out that screw industry would render slowly development or stagnant condition in 2010. Director Lee, Jung Woo also briefed key performance of Korean screw industry and CHQ Wire supply results in 2009. 

Katsuya,Tatsuzo, the Chairman for committee on international affairs of The Fasteners Institute of Japan, described the general situation of screw industry in Japan.  

Katsuya,Tatsuzo, the Chairman for committee on international affairs of The Fasteners Institute of Japan. He said, with the recovery of the demands mainly from motor vehicles and construction, the order from these industries have been restored to 80%-90% of its peak.  

Feng JIngyao, the chairman of Fastener Sub Association, China General Machine Components Industry Association, described the general situation of screw industry in China.

Feng JIngyao, the chairman of Fastener Sub Association, China General Machine Components Industry Association, reported the annual report of Chinese Fasteners 2009 . He said, Although there was a financial crisis in the world, but in China the series of policies stimulated the domestic economy, so generally speaking, Chinese fastener industry achieved steady rise. Chairman Feng also said that we should pay high attention to the environmental protection, quicken the developed pace of fasteners for green environtal protection.  

Thompson T.H.Chang, chairman of the international exchanges of Taiwan Industrial Fasteners Institute, described the general situation of screw industry in Taiwan 

Thompson T.H.Chang, chairman of the international exchanges of Taiwan Industrial Fasteners Institute, Described Taiwan's 2005 - 2009 overall situation of screw type products’ exports. Thompson T.H.Chang pointed out that with the global economic recovery, Taiwan fastener exports began to pick up in the first half of 2010. 

 The guests were eager to ask questions

After the end of the reports, it was Q&A session, the audiences were eager to ask questions to the representatives of the five regions. Everyone actively discussed and exchanged and through the interaction in the scene, the conference was pushed to the summit. 

Mr Yin Dechuan made the lecture

Another major feature of the conference is to invite the Sustainable Development Association chief executive, and the current Chairman of the Hong Kong Association of Energy service, environmental protection and energy saving co., Ltd. Chairman and Chief Executive of Hong Kong Yin Dechuan talks. In the speech entitled " screw industry and environmental protection of low - carbon ", Mr Yin put for forward his 3 dreams:

First dreams is to prevent pollution in the Pearl River Delta and energy efficiency projects, and then expand to the whole country.

Second dream is firstly in China for desert control projects, and promote the successful experiences, helping control global deserts and desertification.    

The last dream is to use the platform of the sustainable development association, the joint Chinese and overseas Chinese in the world, contribute to the motherland. Making China speed up the pace, lead Asian countries to establish “Asian Union”, cooperate with North American Group and European Union in just, fair and open manner, lead people all over the world to enter a harmonious society. 

Mr. Yin’s wonderful lively speech won the applause of the audiences, many people have said that the speech of Mr. Yin is constructive and they are deep sympathy with him.

Then all the representatives from the 5 regions presented souvenirs to the sponsor council. And The conference went to the end. 

The conference announced that the next Five Regions Fastener Association Conference will be held in South Korea, organized by the Korean Federation of Fasteners Industry Cooperatives. The conference concluded. See you next year in Korea!

The Five Regions Fastener Association Conference is the highest level conference in fastener industry in Asia, it is an annual session. The successful convocation of the conference set the “environmental protection issues of the screw industry” as the agenda, provided the platform to further promote trade exchanges and realization of information sharing, that is conducive to unity and sustainable development of the industry.
