With the background of global economic recovery, fastener export of Jiaxing city has progressed by leaps and bounds in the first quarter. The total import and export amount of fasters grew by 41.65% up to USD $ 214.06 million in the first quarter of 2011 as compared with the same period of 2010, of which export turnover jumped by 42.8% reached USD $ 208.20 million and import value increased by 10.2% reached USD $ 5.86 million.
Characteristics of Fastener Export in First Quarter
The growth is obvious in the first quarter with the main export market of America and Europe. The amount of fasteners exported to America and European in the first quarter was USD $ 88.05 million, taking up 42.29% of the total amount of Jiaxing’s fastener export.
The Number of big export corporations is increasing. There were eight enterprises with high export amount of USD $ 5 million each while there were only six enterprises like that in the same period of 2010. The total export amount of the eight enterprises reached as high as USD $ 74.22 million, taking up 35.6% of Jiaxing’s total export amount. Besides, there were 46 enterprises with export amount of USD $ 1 million each, increased 12 enterprises compared with that in the same period of 2010.
The price of steel and iron fastener increase obviously. The average export price of steel and iron fasteners is USD $ 1,322.00 per ton in the first quarter, up 22.07% compared with the same period of 2010 (USD $ 1,083.00 per ton).
The export amount to Japan grows obviously. The amount of export to Japan in the first quarter of 2011 is USD $ 7.31 million increased by 41.3% as compared to the same period of 2010.
Favorable Factors in Affecting Jiaxing Fastener Export
Global economic recovery accelerates the fast growth of Jiaxing fasteners export. The consumption and investment in main developed countries kept increase; the debts problem of European countries and the huge national deficit of some countries got effective controlled; all above mentioned greatly promotes Jiaxing fasteners export.
Confidence in export fasteners gets strengthened when hearing good news of international trading investigation. America had ceased the antidumping and anti-subsidy investigation of fasteners originated from China in the end of 2009; WTO ruled that European antidumping action against Chinese fasteners was against WTO regulations in the beginning of 2011. It is no doubt that Jiaxing fasteners export will benefit from that.
Though Jiaxing fastener export showed a good performance in the first quarter of this year, potential risk like trade protectionism and the apprciation of RMB could never be ignored. Therefore, fastener industry should keep improving technology, enhancing quality, and strengthening competitiveness to realize sustainable development.
