The European Commission has terminated the partial interim review of the carbon steel anti-dumping measures on Malaysia requested by Malaysian Precision Manufacturing SDN BHD.
Malaysian Precision applied for the review, which commenced on 14th May, in order to seek exemption from anti-dumping duties applied as a result of the EU circumvention investigation in July 2011.
On 18th June the company withdrew the request on the basis it was unable to provide the Commission with data about companies related to it. The Commission considered whether to continue the review under its own authority but concluded that would not service EU interest. It notified Malaysian Precision of this decision, and having not received any response, has now issued regulation 1026/2013 formally terminating the review.
The termination of the partial interim review has no effect on the anti-dumping duties imposed on carbon steel fasteners from all bar eight companies granted exemptions in Malaysia by Regulation 723/2011 of July 2011.
