On Dec. 19, 2015, Mr. Wang Yong, State Councilor of The People’s Republic of China jointly with the Deputy Prime Minister of The Kingdom of Thailand, announced the start of the construction of Sino-Thailand Railway.

It is reported that the total track length of the Sino-Thailand Railway reaches 845 km. Applying the Chinese technology and equipments to this railway, the speed of train is designed to be 180 km/h. The construction of the Sino-Thailand Railway includes the rail project from Nong Khai, Kele, Kaeng Khoi, to Map Ta Phut and the rail project from Bangkok to Kaeng Khoi.
