Financial News of Vietnam, Dec. 12th. The Vietnam Steel Association said, though this year is a tough year, Vietnam’s steel industry remain rapid growth in 2016. It’s expected that billet output is with year-on-year growth of 20% and other steel products grow about 15%. The industry will grow 10%-12% in 2017. There will be 10 more steel factories starting to operate from 2016 to 2017 which will accelerate the rapid growth of future steel industry in Vietnam.
In addition, the Association indicated that the industry is facing much difficulties in 2017 since it depends too much on importing raw materials from some countries, especially China. Besides, strict technical barrier is another problem for its steel products during export.
