From March  4 to 7, 2018, the global industry presented the most important innovations of the year at INTERNATIONALE EISENWARENMESSE Köln, so called International Hardware Fair Cologne. The great event was lasting four days and closed on Mar. 7 at Koelnmesse Fair Grounds in Germany. Based on the introduction, the hardware show is the largest and most international trade fair in the industry. The fair covered an area of 144,000 square meters, with 2770 exhibitors from China, Italy, Germany, Spain and other 58 countries. Fastener exhibitors were mainly in Hall 5.2 and some were in Hall 5.1. More than 60 fastener suppliers made their presence at the show with their high-quality products, including Jiangsu Washen, Hangzhou Lizhan, Ningbo ABC, Yuyao Xintai, Shanghai Fast-Fix, Foshan Guangqingchang, Shenzhen Manjun, Jiaxing ChinaFar, Zhejiang Ansheng, Zhejiang Sansega, Shanghai Rivet, Jiangsu Xinchangjiang, Ningbo Ningli, Shanghai Finefix, Yuyao Biao'er, Dongguan Ganggu, Hunan Bygold, Jiexi Dahua, Shanghai Prime,S.R.C, etc. Besides, European exhibitors were mainly local well-known distributors, such as S+P, RETHER, AMBROVIT, INDEX, Stafa Group, and so on.

European exhibitors

As the largest hardware fair in the world, the exhibition attracted numerous visitors. Because it's not a professional fastener fair, most of buyers did not target fasteners. However, reporter of Chinafastener.com said that those buyers targeted fasteners were quite professional and mainly from Europe.

Part of Chinese exhibitors said that this was the first time they took part in European exhibition, and they chose this fair to investigate the market. Most of exhibitors have been in Europe market for a long time. Quite a few exhibitors said they got high-quality orders.

In February 2016, antidumping on carbon steel fasteners from China was removed and in January 2017, antidumping on some certain stailess steel fasteners from China came to an end. Since that, Chinese fastener companies tried to develop Europen market again. Based on EU database, the 28 countries in EU imported near 549 million kg fasteners from China, up 24.06% versus 2016, valued at 920 million Euro, up 33.21% in 2017. The 28 countris in EU exported near 111 million kg, up 10.72% versus 2016, worth 880 million Euro, up 12.91% versus 2016. The data reflects that after removing anti-dumping measures, the quantity and value of fasteners imported by EU countries from China are in a significant increase and Chinese fastener companies are expanding market shares in the region. 

The next EISENWARENMESSE - International Hardware Fair Cologne is scheduled to take place from 1 to 4 March 2020.
