The Trump administration USTR on Tuesday (Apr. 3) published a list of about 1,300 Chinese exports that could be targeted for tariffs. Iron or steel nuts (HS code73181600) is on the list.
The United States plans to apply the tariffs to about $50 billion worth of goods to punish China for its theft of trade secrets, including software, patents and other technology. A 25% tariff would be applied to all the products, according to the US Trade Representative, a wing of the White House.
Based on the agenda on the document, the Section 301 Committee will convene a public hearing in the main hearing room of the U.S. International Trade Commission, 500 E Street SW Washington DC 20436 beginning at 10:00 am. Due date for submission of post-hearing rebuttal comments will be May 22, 2018.
The list of products and intended tariff increases can be found here.
