Taiwan as the price of wire materials increased, somehow the market turnover showed no sign of getting upward. Some market analysts indicates that the domestic market of screws might become pessimistic due to less big public construction projects emerge, plus the government’s resolution of keeping the local housing price under control. The current price of low-carbon screws is about 40 RMB/KG, with 47 RMB/KG and 55-57RMB/KG of medium and high carbon type respectively. The price of TC bolt is 56-57 RMB/KG and the shear nail is 42 RMB/KG.

Export Volume in Feb was less than 90,000 tons

Taiwan’s export volume of screws in February was less than 90,000 tons, the lowest record since 2010 due to the shortest working days in that month. However, it was still 10% higher by comparison with the same period of last year. The average price of screws is USD2.638/kg, dip 1.37% than January, continuously going down for four months since October, 2009.

Nevertheless, industrial experts predict that screws export volume of Taiwan will return to above 100,000 tons starting from March. The current price of automotive screws is around 2.37 USD/KG while the small is 1.4USD/KG due to the order reduction.
