Sales of cars, light commercial vehicles (pickups and vans), trucks and buses rose 12% in the first half of this year, against the same period in 2018, reported the Brazilian federation of dealers (Fenabrave) on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019.
The sale of cars and light commercial vehicles grew 10.8% in the first half of the year compared to the same period in 2018, where a total of 1.24 million units were registered.
Truck and bus sales were the positive points in the half-year balance with an increase of 45% and 71%, respectively, also in comparison with the same period in the previous year.
On the other hand, the motorcycle sector saw a 16% increase in plate registrations in the first half of the year, as compared to a year earlier. A total of 530,000 units were sold. Fenabrave’s forecast for motorcycles in 2019 was revised upwards.
